Taryn Phaneuf is an independent journalist living in eastern Washington, where she writes about the science, politics and culture of food. Her work has appeared in local and national publications, including The Atlantic, Crosscut, The Inlander and Civil Eats.
Phaneuf is from Fargo, North Dakota. She earned a journalism degree from the University of Minnesota in 2011. Like many fine journalists, she started at the Minnesota Daily – the school’s award-winning student-run newspaper. She also worked as a projects reporter and copy editor at the Bowling Green Daily News in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
