The directors of Western Kentucky University’s Mountain Workshops are working hard putting the final touches on creating a memorable 2021 Mountain experience. The annual fall event is scheduled for October 19–23 and specific details will be announced on this website July 1. The event, which will include both photography and video workshops, will be remote so you do not need to make any travel plans, you can work on your story from where ever you desire. Our award winning and energetic coaching staff will guide you one-on-one as you locate your story, gather content and produce a final edit of your story. We will publish each story on our web site upon the conclusion of the workshops.
If you don't have the time to commit a week with us this year, we have some very cool interactive activities planned each evening thanks to our partnership with Nowhere as we join with different collaborators like Video Consortium and Talking Eyes Media as we provide nightly education and inspiration on Oct. 19, 20 and 21, from 7-10 p.m. Central Standard Time. Stay tuned to our web site as we continue to add guests/collaborators to this exciting addition of our workshops.
These nightly sessions will be open to both Mountain Workshops participants (part of their workshops tuition) and the general public for $75 per night, or $150 for all three nights. All proceeds from these sessions will contribute to educational initiatives through WKU PJ and our nonprofit collaborators. If you attend any one session, you will be able to return for free on Friday, Oct. 22 for an evening of entertainment and mingle with Mountain participants, faculty and staff.
We hope you will join us in celebrating the Mountain Workshops 46th year of storytelling!
