Sep 26-28 1985
Morning has broken along the road to Edmonton. Dairy cows graze on the gently rolling hills, as fog lifts from the dew-dappled grass. From the clear sky, the sun shines on the timeless scene. Years ago, the roads were dirt, but now have been paved. Electricity and running water have moved in along with factories. Yet the small-town flavor of the Metcalfe County seat has not been washed away. To many of the 1,401 residents in 1985, Edmonton is home – the only home they would ever dream of. Standing outside Cliff and Judy's coffee shop Elzie Franklin said, "To me, it's the next best thing to heaven, I guess."
